Computed tomography is currently the most important and the most precise diagnostic instrument applied in dentistry. The dose of ionising radiation of device is minimal and non-hazardous. 3D images received by digital tomography show a very precise, deviated, exact maxilla and mandible image and surrounding areas: sinuses, mandible channel with nerves, etc. Diagnostic value of computed tomography is very considerable – no other diagnostic test except for 3D image provides as much complete information about patient’s teeth, condition of tissues of maxillofacial area, various pathologies, bone fractures, root splits, dental position anomalies and foreign bodies. Tomography enables to plan exact treatment as well as:
- perform dental implantation;
- bone augmentation;
- surgery of sinus bottom lifting.
